She nodded her head, but she didn’t believe him. Not for one second. On what planet was being alone better than.. not?
She exhaled heavily and followed the movement of his hand with her eyes, brow furrowing. The Time Lord, being restricted by time, apparently. Even though the absence of any wrist watch was obvious. This wouldn’t have been so awkward, so heartbreaking, if she hadn’t have built up her life again like he would have wanted her to. They could have run hand in hand back to the TARDIS that very same day— but they can’t. Not now. Not ever.
“Y’ really should,” She agreed, but her lips quirked in a smile. “Or you could stay.”
“Stay?” he squinted his eyes as if ‘stay’ were a new word. A word he couldn’t quite comprehend. A word beyond him, beyond this universe.
“Stay— with you?” He hoped, he hoped with both his hearts, she just meant ‘stay’ for a visit. The look on his face probably showed his sudden confusion— his eyes had widened, his left eyebrow was arched, and his mouth was open as if he were trying to usher Rose into saying something. This was going to make things more difficult. If he stayed, he’d just reattach himself to Rose, only to be disappointed when he’d have to get in the TARDIS and fly away again.

[She pauses at his hesitation, but the arm remains around his neck, and she only resumes the movement of her lips when he responds in kind. She presses a smile against his mouth and deepens the kiss with a swipe of her tongue, her second arm moving to join the other around him.]
[He let his eyes flutter shut when he felt her deepen the kiss, the motion of his lips pausing briefly. With lips pressed against Rose’s, he parted his in such a way that he could part Rose’s as well, slipping his tongue inside her mouth, probing to meet hers. Her sweet taste flooded his mouth, and if it had not been for their current state, he would have sighed with content. They had only shared a few of these kisses, some late at night in the TARDIS, and some after a near-death experience, just so he could comfort her or prove his deep affection.]
[Grins, then takes her hand happily.] Oh, hullo~ What’d you need me for? Something wrong? Someone hurt?
[Uses it to draw him close.] Nope, nothin’ wrong. Just stay still for me, yeah? [Pushes onto her toes and presses her lips to his, other arm coming around his neck.]
[Blushes brightly when her lips meet his, shocked at such a forward approach, but makes no effort to try and push her away. He hesitated, then wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer, pressing his lips against hers gently in return.]
